Every journey needs roots.
From PRIDE, the Tradiam film

The acacia sends its roots deep before it spreads, then stands through drought and storm and gives shade to everything beneath it. Wekeza means invest, and this fund is built for that patience: money planted now for the years ahead.

Stacks of coins rise in steps, each topped with a young plant

Made for goals one to five years out.

  • A plot, a car or school fees a few years away.
  • Your next step once your Mfalme reserve is in place.
  • Fixed income without choosing bonds yourself.

If you might need the money within three months, keep it in Mfalme.

Where your money goes

Government securities, deposits with licensed banks and high-quality corporate debt. The first three months are a lock-in, which gives your money time to settle into the portfolio.

The facts.

Fees are shown before you invest, so you never meet a cost for the first time on a statement.

Questions people ask.

How is Wekeza different from Mfalme?

Mfalme is for money you may need at short notice. Wekeza invests for longer in government and corporate bonds, so it has a three-month lock-in and its value moves more.

Can the value fall?

Yes. Bond prices move with interest rates, so your balance can dip for a while, and returns aren't guaranteed.

When can I withdraw?

Any time after the three-month lock-in. Money is paid within 2 business days of your request.

What does it cost?

An entry fee of 0.5% on each amount you invest, no exit fee, and a management fee of 3.0% a year, charged daily inside the price.

Unit trusts are investments, not bank deposits. Their value can fall as well as rise, and past returns do not guarantee future ones. Please read each fund's information memorandum before you invest.
